Brian Greenway's Blues Bus
Blues Festival

Sylvie Desgroseillers (Tribute to Aretha Franklin)

Brian Greenway formed the “Blues Bus” Band for the pure joy of reviving - and performing – the greatest forgotten songs from the classic era of vinyl recording. From the British Invasion to Classic American Blues and the worldwide Rock & Roll phenomenon they spawned, the “Blues Bus” is a celebration of heartfelt great music, exciting and pure.

Brian’s guitar wing-man is former “April Wine” bandmate Gary Moffet, consummate player, producer, and wonderful live performer; harp player/vocalist Craig Miller adds a strong foothold to the Chicago sound’s vital influence. Mark Higdon on drums and Lloyd Dallaire on bass comprise the Bus’s versatile rhythm undercarriage, with driving dynamic rhythms that carry all the way down to a whisper.

The Blues Bus experience is all at once thrilling, nostalgic, humorous and unforgettable. The band’s attention to detail delivers rich vocal harmonies and soaring instrumental showcases, while connecting to crowds at the sincerest level. These seasoned career-musicians are dedicated to the highest professionalism, and their joy onstage could power a town!

All who are fortunate enough to collaborate with Sylvie DesGroseilliers during the course of their lives have been captivated by her talent, her personality, her enthusiasm, her energy, as well as
her history.
Singing in a gospel choir (Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir) for about 10 years and working as a legal secretary, Sylvie decided to leave the office world behind and finally devote herself to doingwhat she was born to do : SING.She began her hectic professional career in 1998 with the musical review “Du Rock à l’Opéra”, continuing on to “Belle et Bum” (Télé-Québec) for the duration of two years (2003 to 2005) and “Génération Motown”, viewed by over half-a-million theatre-goers, for four years (2003 to 2007). She became the star-singer in the musical review “Esquire Show Bar” playing at the Corona and other major theatres in the province of Quebec from June 2009 to 2011.

Sylvie sang with world known artists such as Patty Labelle, Deborah Cox, The Neville Brothers, who later on invited her to sing with them at the opening show for the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2006. She also sang with worldbeat international singer Youssou N’Dour. She was the opening act for the Four Tops at Place des Art. She sang for the Queen, Prime Ministers of Canada, and he inaugural ceremony of the new Governor General, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean.
She has three albums to her name. Her latest effort is a tribute to black female singers who influenced her, professionally and personally: WOMEN OF SOUL. This “Hommage /One Woman Show”, starts with the very first one, Josephine Baker all the way to Whitney Houston, notwithstanding Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Myriam Makeba, Aretha Franklin and many many more. She talks about these women, tells stories, makes us laugh, sing, cry and
dance for about two hours of unforgettable songs.
Nothing can stop Sylvie DesGroseilliers and the best is always yet to come!!!
